About the Author
Remy Dean is a writer, teacher and visual artist. He was born in Newport, Gwent, 1965, and now lives with his wife, daughter and dog in Snowdonia, where he teaches Art History, Creative Media and Photography in the Arts department of a local college.
He graduated from North Staffordshire Polytechnic in 1987 with a BA (Hons) in Audio-visual Design, starting out by making a few short films, including a music video for his band, BrainDeath – before directing his creative energies toward writing.
Previous employment has included working as an international freight driver, sheet metal worker, professional photographer, press officer and magazine editor, before finding success as a journalist, having more than fifty features published in various magazines and newspapers, including The Guardian, The Independent, New Woman and Outlook. He has written on a wide range of topics such as true crime, jazz, mainstream pop, alternative rock, science fiction, health and film theory. Photographs by Remy Dean have also appeared in national newspapers and his first solo exhibition was hosted at Oriel Maenofferen Gallery during the summer of 2011.
He is the author of a dozen published books. Dean’s first novel Scraps and a novelette, Final Bough, are also available from Questing Beast.
